In the 3rd Chapter of the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu describes a life of peace and joy begins with inner emptiness, not external fullness. It is perfectly ok to have things – not ok for things to have you or you determine your value by others’ opinions and achievements. It is selfless action that causes everything to fall into place.
